Details:
The cost of maintaining the architectural integrity of historic buildings in local and National Register districts can be expensive, and beyond the reach of many homeowners. The cost of both construction materials and labor has skyrocketed since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, thus making these necessary and critical repairs unaffordable for many homeowners. This project will provide State and Local Fiscal Rescue Funds (SLFRF) in the amount of One Million Dollars ($1,000,000) which were appropriated by the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) to assist homeowners with making necessary repairs to preserve the integrity of their homes.
Project Goals
- To have a seamless integration into the existing Healthy Home Repair Program delivery system
- To expedite the delivery of services for both homeowners currently in process in the Healthy Home Repair Program, on the existing waiting list, as well as those who have been referred to the program by the Cultural Resources Office at the time of building permit application
- To provide quality home repairs to owner-occupants living in the Hyde Park, The Ville and Visitation Park, or other City of St. Louis national register or local historic districts that meet all Secretary of Interior’s standards, including Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act as well as other national register and local historic district standards
- To provide exceptional program and construction management services so that homeowners assisted in the program feel well served by the program.
