The OSMRE/AmeriCorps Program was developed to provide an opportunity for OSMRE to increase its engagement with young people with university or vocational degrees. Recipients of OSMRE/AmeriCorps Program financial assistance will support an innovative partnership, working directly with OSMRE in the following areas:
- community and environmental reclamation,
- community environmental stewardship,
- economic improvement,
- educational opportunities,
- research,
- geographic information systems,
- mapping, and more.
The program places recent graduates from colleges, universities and/or vocational schools as AmeriCorps Members in OSMRE Headquarters, Regional and Field Offices to service for a period of up to two years to gain experience working at OSMRE and the Federal government.
