The goal of this program is to improve the operations of correctional facilities by helping the managing agencies establish, assess, and improve their corrections analysis programs. This will help analysts improve their skills and help agencies make the best use of analysis results. While this program could be expanded to include community corrections in future years pending needs of the field and availability of additional funds, applicants should limit the scope of proposals under this solicitation to prisons.
Objectives
BJA will make one award to:
- Identify the core competencies for corrections data analysis and how to use the analysis results.
- Train agency analysts and their leadership to meet those core competencies.
- Develop trainings, resources, and communities of practice to implement the standards.
