The Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), an agency under the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), is announcing the potential availability of funding for the purpose of leveraging NRCS resources to encourage collaboration with partners in providing strategic conservation delivery assistance and/or provide tools or data that enhance the ability of the agency to support conservation.

The purpose of the Virginia Conservation Partnership and Technical Assistance program is limited to the following three priority areas listed below. Applications will only be considered for projects that propose to address at least one of these three priorities:
- Provide technical assistance in the delivery, development, promotion, and support of soil, water and wildlife conservation programs to Virginia’s farmers, ranchers, and landowners,
- Support delivery of Climate Smart Agriculture and Forestry conservation practices and show quantifiable carbon sequestration and/or greenhouse gas reductions,
- Reduce barriers to programs and improve support to underserved farmers, ranchers, and landowners.
Emphasis will be placed on projects that:
- Build technical capacity to implement Farm Bill and Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) conservation programs and provide conservation technical assistance.
- Increase assistance for climate-smart agriculture and forestry to support producers in building resiliency across their operations.
- Leverage innovative partnerships to expand NRCS’s ability to get conservation on the ground effectively and efficiently. This notice identifies the objectives, eligibility criteria, and application instructions. Applications will be screened for completeness and compliance with the provisions of this notice. Incomplete and/or noncompliant applications will be eliminated from competition and notification of elimination will be sent to the applicant.
