The purpose of this initiative is to increase access to, and improve the quality of, substance use disorder treatment and recovery services through innovative strategies designed to meet tailored and specific community needs.
Additionally, these funds are intended to develop and implement targeted strategies for substance use disorder treatment provision to address a specific population or area of focus identified by the community; i.e., to an unmet need or underserved population through the provision of evidence-based substance use disorder treatment and/or recovery support services.
Funding Size
The total amount of funding available in this RFA is $5,784,000. Organizations may apply for a maximum of 4 $482,000 per year for each of the three years this opportunity is available (for a total of $1,446,000). The anticipated number of awardees is four, with a period of award for this RFA of October 1, 2022 – June 30, 2025.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicant agencies must meet the following eligibility criteria to be considered:
- Applicant agencies must:
- be a non-profit or Tribal entity
- not be currently subject to any investigative or corrective actions by any investigative body
- Applicants must demonstrate that they are able to provide the service specifications and standards set forth in this RFA. Award recipients must meet all applicable DMH/DD/SAS regulations and policies, and conditions and requirements for the Substance Abuse Block Grant (SABG) grant. As per the SABG grant, this includes completion of NC-TOPPS.
- Applicant agencies that are applying as part of a partnership must clearly identify the lead agency and the other partner agencies, the roles and responsibilities of each agency should be identified and documentation confirming the partnership should be included in the appendices.
