GoodUse generous funders make it possible for them to provide technical assistance, education and matching grants to nonprofit partners, applying them to facility and operational upgrades that increase resource efficiency, lower expenses and improve indoor health. To make these positive changes last, Southface engineers identify areas for high-impact energy and water savings and indoor air improvements, assist with project implementation and ensure upgrades are delivering results. By reducing operating costs, GoodUse builds capacity within their partner organizations so they can focus on their mission and better serve their communities.
Funding Information
- Organizations with an annual operating budget below $1 million are eligible for a grant award from Southface capped at $30,000 with a 2:1 match from the organization (a total project up to $45,000).
- Organizations with an annual operating budget between $1 million and $10 million are eligible for a grant award from Southface capped at $60,000 with a 1:1 match from the organization (a total project up to $120,000).
- Organizations with an annual operating budget above $10 million are eligible for a grant award from Southface capped at $75,000 with a 1:1 match from the organization (a total project $150,000).
Eligibility Criteria
In order to be eligible for a GoodUse grant, organizations must meet the following eligibility requirements:
- Must be a 501c3 nonprofit organization
- Must be located in the Southeast United States
- Must own building, or have a long-term lease of at least 5 years.
- If the organization is religious, the organization is only eligible if 25% or less of their space is dedicated to religious activities. Religious organizations must also offer non-religious programs to all.
