Funding Objectives
Eligible entities may apply to fund projects to: Launch a new registered apprenticeship program(s) and/or Expand existing registered apprenticeship programs in one or more of the following ways:
- Adding new occupations
- Adding new employers
- Adding additional apprentices
- Expanding to new service areas
- Expanding to new industries
Award Amount
Awards under Cycle 1 of the IDEA Scale-Up Grant program will range from $10,000 to $50,000.
Eligibility Criteria
Any government or nongovernment entity or organization that currently offers and is planning to expand or plans to launch a registered apprenticeship and, if not the employer, has partnered with an employer to launch or expand such a program is eligible to apply for the Scale-Up Grant Program. This includes:
- Employers
- Registered Apprenticeship Sponsors
- Apprenticeship Intermediaries
- Education or Training Providers
Eligible entities must demonstrate the following in their submitted application to be considered for funding:
- Commitment to either launch or expand a minimum of one Registered Apprenticeship Program.
- Identification of at least one employer and inclusion of a letter of support (if the applicant is not the employer).
- Ability and intent to employ apprentices within the state of Colorado within the period of performance.
- Commitment to enroll at least one apprentice within 12 months of the start of the period of performance.
- Allowable costs in accordance with this RFA associated with the budget.
