Details:
The Farash Foundation is opening a second round of funding for community-based organizations, educational organizations, schools (district and charter). Funding will be directed to support teacher retention strategies that result in increased numbers of teachers remaining in the profession. Resources may support scaling existing programs, innovative new ideas, pilot projects, and/or showcase collaborations that will support retention efforts.
Establishing new and/or strengthening efforts to support the well-being and retention of teachers in the profession through efforts that address “support, collaborate, and retain” as a focus. These could include but are not limited to:
- Developing and implementing mentorship opportunities.
- Innovative programs or projects that support educator well-being.
- Innovative strategies that positively impact workplace cultural conditions.
- Strong school culture, resources and leadership that support teachers.

Funding Information
The foundation has set aside a total of up to $300,000.00 for Round 2 grants with individual awards likely in the $25K – $100K range.
Eligibility Criteria
- The Foundation accepts proposals from not-for-profit groups that serve Monroe and Ontario counties in New York State.
- Only those organizations that are tax-exempt under Section 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Service Code of 1986, as amended, and are not classified as private foundations or Type III supporting organizations under Section 509 of the Code will be considered for grants. Proposals are limited to projects to be undertaken or initiated in Monroe or Ontario counties in New York State. Farash Foundation will work with organizations without 501(c)3 status that use an established Non-Profit organization with 501(c)3 status as a fiscal sponsor on a case-by-case basis.
- Grants will not be made to individuals, partisan political organizations or to support lobbying efforts.
- Incomplete proposals will not be accepted.
- New and innovative programs (under two years in operation)
- Older organizations that are testing a novel program; and
- Projects working with fiscal sponsors or in non-traditional structures
