Ohana Grants Purpose
Strong, healthy families that have positive engagement, from keiki to kupuna—stronger families result in stronger communities and a stronger Lāhui Promotion of healthy ‘ohana relationships by providing opportunities in communities to engage in ʻāina and moʻomeheu based activities and initiatives as well as opportunities to engage in the wellbeing of their communities via civic participation and leadership.

Funding Information
- Minimum Amount: $50,000.
- Maximum Amount: $100,000.
- The grant award period is for an initial two (2) years from the contract.
Eligibility Criteria
- Native Hawaiian Serving Organization (NHSO) Requirement
- The applicant shall be an organization that can certify and clearly demonstrate that at least sixty-percent (60%) or more of the organization’s overall current client and/or participant base is Native Hawaiian. The applicant shall provide information and data to substantiate how the applicant derived the percentage provided. The information and data shall not be based solely on the project being applied for, but the organization’s overall participant and/or client base for all services provided by the organization.
- Reminder, to be eligible for funding consideration, an applicant shall:
- Be registered to do business in the State of Hawaiʻi
- Provide services to Native Hawaiians and/or Native Hawaiian community(ies) in the State of Hawaiʻi
- Have an IRS letter of Determination
- Compliant with Hawaiʻi Compliance Express
