In an effort to accelerate learning for primary students, funding is available from the Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education (CPE) through a partnership with the Kentucky Department of Education (KDE) using the Kentucky Read to Achieve (KY RTA): Reading Diagnostic and Intervention Grant.
Funding Information
CPE anticipates awarding eight grants, up to $55,000, to individual institutions.
Basic Requirements
- An institution may submit no more than one single proposal.
- Professional learning provided by grant recipients must align with Section 2 of KRS 158.792, which requires the Read to Achieve (RTA) awardees to participate in high-quality professional learning and KRS 158.305, within Senate Bill 9 (2022), the Read to Succeed Act, that requires comprehensive schoolwide reading instruction aligned to reading and writing standards.
- Proposals must include a brief overview of the proposed program and amount of funding requested.
Eligibility and Restrictions
- CPE reserves the right to fund a proposal in full or in part, to request additional information to assist in the review process, to reject any of the proposals responding to the RFP, and to reissue the RFP and accept new proposals if the KRP4RTA review committee determines that doing so is in the best interest of the Commonwealth.
- CPE further reserves the right to withhold funding if at any point the program does not adhere to the requirements of the state-funded program, applicable laws and regulations, and stated results and outcomes or the goals and objectives declared in this RFP. CPE staff reserves the right to attend any training or project activity to ensure the fidelity of the program and to directly contact workshop participants regarding their experiences for its own internal evaluation of the project.
- This is a reimbursement grant and any unexpended funds remaining after the expiration of the agreement will be forfeited by the institution. Reimbursement invoice requirements will be disseminated upon award.
