The Foundation funds programs and projects that directly impact low-income and vulnerable older adults and their caregivers in the following areas:
- Food insecurity
- Home-based care services
- Respite and support services for spouses/relatives caring for older adults at home
- Safety, security and elder abuse
- Social work/Case management
- Transportation for older adults, caregivers, or home health aides
Geographical Area
The Foundation considers funding requests for projects and programs only in their geographical area of Dutchess, Putnam, and Westchester Counties, NY.
The Foundation will consider projects for the following type of grants:
- Small Grants, up to $15,000
- Project/program creation, expansion, and/or support
- Minor capital improvement projects
- Full Grants
- Project/program creation, expansion, and/or support
- Grants for more than $50,000 can be considered for exceptional programs based on the merits of the proposal and must be discussed with the Foundation prior to submitting an LOI.
Eligibility Criteria
Potential grantees that meet the focus and geographical areas also need to have:
- An annual operating budget of $1 million or more
- A full time, paid executive director
- A history of providing direct services to older adults and/or their caregivers in the geographical area, or have an interest in expanding a program to the area
The Foundation does not award grants to individuals or other foundations. Grants are not provided for operating support, major capital projects, research projects, scholarships, loans, or endowment funds.
