The City of Sequim and the Sequim-Dungeness Valley Chamber of Commerce have partnered to make a COVID-19 Small Business Rent Relief Grant program available for small businesses within the City limits that are currently in arrears on their rent payment by at least two months.

The Sequim City Council has approved an initial $100,000 in funds out of City reserves to support the program.
Eligibility Criteria
This grant program is intended to help small bricks and mortar businesses who are behind in their rent due to impacts from the COVID-19 pandemic.
Eligibility Requirements Include:
- Business must have fewer than 50 employees
- Business must have a current Washington state business license with City of Sequim endorsement
- Business must be physically located within the city limits of Sequim
- Business must have been in operation for at least six months before date of application and have a business plan
- Business must be current on all State and City regulatory requirements
- Business must have experienced a loss of income due to COVID-19 or increased costs as a result of inflation and/or supply chain issues
- Business must demonstrate that their rent payments are in arrears by at least two months
- Business must demonstrate that no eviction for nonpayment of rent will occur within the 60-day period following receipt of a grant award
- No franchise or business owned or partially owned by an individual or immediate family member, manager, or director of the Chamber Executive Committee or a Sequim City Councilor or employee are eligible for this grant
- Businesses may only receive assistance under this Program once.
