The Cleveland Tree Coalition is a collaborative group of public, private, and community stakeholders partnered with the City of Cleveland to rebuild the urban forest. The coalition is striving to create a healthy, vibrant, sustainable, and equitable urban forest by working collaboratively to implement the Cleveland Tree Plan.
This grant was made possible through funding provided by NOPEC’s Energized Community Grant program, the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, and the CTC’s federal earmark from Senator Sherrod Brown. NOPEC, ODNR, and Senator Brown are proud to support the CTC’s critical mission of reforesting the “Forest City” through ongoing planting and maintenance initiatives.
Priority will given to projects that
- Plant in the city of Cleveland and in neighborhoods with low tree canopy cover
- Incorporate proper site selection, including planting on private property
- Provide a comprehensive planting and three-year maintenance plan
Funding Information
The Coalition is offering member organizations an opportunity to apply for up to $75,000 in grant funds to complete a tree planting project on public or private property in the City of Cleveland.

This grant is open to local non-profit and public organizations for tree planting and establishment within the City of Cleveland.
