Best Starts’ Stopping the School to Prison Pipeline strategy is seeking to partner with King County organizations to create opportunities and provide community-based resources that help dismantle the school-to-prison pipeline and expand pathways from school to life success for young people between the ages of 12-24 who face systemic and institutional racism within their criminal legal system, schools, and communities.
School-to-life success pathways create nurturing environments for young people and their families to thrive. Partnering with organizations embedded in their communities, this RFP will promote economic growth through workforce and career development experiences, opportunities, education, guidance, relationships, and other efforts related to economic strengthening, including apprenticeship-type programs and positive identity development.
SSPP strategies and programming includes11:
- Employment and Economic Development
- Theft 3 and Mall Safety (T3AMS)
- Education Empowerment and Engagement
Funding Information
The total amount available for awards will be approximately $8.6 million (July 1, 2022 – December 31st, 2024).
Eligibility Criteria
This request is open to non-profit organizations, community-based organizations, tribes and tribal organizations, and public or governmental agencies serving communities in King County. Small non-profits and community-based organizations are encouraged to submit proposals.
