The overall purpose of the Cancer, Cardiovascular Disease, and Pulmonary Disease (CCPD) Competitive Grants Program is to reduce chronic disease in Colorado by providing a comprehensive approach that focuses on prevention, early detection, and treatment for cancer, cardiovascular disease, and chronic pulmonary disease. To achieve that comprehensive approach, the CCPD Competitive Grants program assists in the implementation of the state’s strategic plans regarding cancer and cardiovascular disease. The Colorado Chronic Disease State Plan is the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment’s (CDPHE) current strategic plan for chronic disease. Additionally, the Colorado Cancer Plan is a critical document that guides Colorado in making decisions based on cancer prevention, control, and care priorities.
CDPHE may award grants for up to a five-year grant period of July 1, 2023, through June 30, 2028, and reserves an option to shorten or extend awards.
Funding Information
An estimated $10,500,000 will be available annually (total for all paths).
Eligibility for all Paths
Eligible organizations that may apply for funding include nonprofit organizations, health care organizations, governmental entities, educational institutions, and for-profit private sector organizations. Also eligible are any federally recognized Native American Tribes in Colorado, or nonprofit organizations providing services to eligible Tribes on the reservation or federally recognized Tribal land with a letter of support from the applicable Tribal Council. Each strategy includes specific information regarding eligible and ideal entity types, and required and preferred skills, expertise, and established relationships.
