McHenry County estimates an allocation of $1,400,000 (One Million Four Hundred Thousand Dollars and Zero Cents) in funding from HUD.
Criteria
Applications are being accepted for any eligible CDBG activities, which include but are not limited to: Site Clearance for Affordable Housing Development/Construction, Homeowner Occupied Rehabilitation; Public Services, Public Facilities, Downpayment Assistance Programs, Infrastructure, Microenterprise, Economic Development, and more. CDBG allocations will be made to eligible non-profit organizations, for-profit small businesses, and municipalities within McHenry County. A leverage of at least 10% is requested applies for all projects and no applications for assistance under $5,000 (Five Thousand Dollars) will be accepted. Project applicants are highly encouraged to review the federal regulations codified under 24 CFR 570 related to the CDBG Program in shaping their Application. The Five Year Consolidated Plan 2020-2024 guides eligible activities. Applicants are also encouraged to be creative with utilizing CDBG funds to attract new state, local, private, and federal funding.
