The BLM seeks to ensure that the public’s oil and gas resources are developed in an environmentally responsible manner that maximizes recovery, while minimizing waste and providing a fair return for the taxpayer through accurate revenue collection.
Objective
Inspection & Enforcement activities for Oil & Gas leases to include such things as production inspections, drilling operations, blowout preventer tests, mechanical integrity tests, primary and remedial cementing, bradenhead tests, plugging and abandonment operations as well as environmental compliance inspections related to equipment leaks, spills and other surface use concerns of oil and gas operations on Nation lands.
Funding Opportunity Goals
- Employment of Native Americans which will stimulate the Nations economy.
- Satisfying the BLM requirement for Oil & Gas Inspection and Enforcement requirements per FOGRMA.
- Training of Native American Inspectors per the National Certification Program for Oil & Gas I & E Personnel.

Projects cannot be funded for more than a five-year period.
