Educational Enhancement Funds will support creative projects that build upon or expand classroom curriculum, offer new opportunities to students through co-curricular activities, or address issues of health and wellness in the school setting.
Guidelines
- Grants, generally up to $750, are made to teachers and staff in the Manchester and Amherst public schools, including the 21st Century after School Program, to enhance curriculum and support enrichment programs designed by faculty and staff
- A teacher/staff person may receive one award per school year. There is a limit of three Bean Educational Enhancement Grants per Manchester school during a school year. The Amherst School District may request up to three grants annually
- Funds are not available to purchase textbooks or other materials that are part of a regular curriculum
- Projects must be of benefit to an entire class, or use an equitable selection process to identify participating students
- Activities must directly relate to curriculum or school-approved activities
- Projects must conform to school policies (insurance, transportation etc)
- Field trip transportation costs will not be covered.
