The Field of Interest grant program is a bi-annual grant opportunity made possible by the Keweenaw Area Community Foundation’s Field of Interest funds.
Field of interest funds are created to provide annual support for grants targeted toward specific areas of community needs and interests, to meet changing conditions and/or enhance the quality of life in the Keweenaw. For example—the arts, the environment, youth activities, recreation, education, etc. You identify your personal interest area when making your gift; our board awards grants to community organizations and programs that are making a difference in the area you select.
Eligibility
- Grants are made to tax-exempt 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations, school districts, religious institutions, municipalities, and other governmental units
- Grants cannot be made to an individual
- Grants must be used for charitable purposes
- Proposals must directly benefit the Foundation’s service area of Houghton and Keweenaw Counties (unless otherwise stated)
- No grants may be used for any political campaign or to support attempts to influence any governmental body, other than by making the results of nonpartisan analysis studies or research publicly available.
