Poor indoor and ambient air quality and substandard housing conditions negatively impact the health of people with asthma. The target population is low-income families in the District in which one or more members have asthma.
This is a federally funded grant that addresses environmental justice and health. The project covered under this RFA is as follows:
- Training childcare facility staff on how to mitigate environmental asthma triggers within their scope.
The project’s primary aims are to improve low income household children’s long-term asthma control and to reduce COVID-19 transmission.
The purpose of this grant is to improve children’s long-term asthma control and to reduce COVID-19 transmission. Poor indoor and ambient air quality and substandard housing conditions negatively impact the health of people with asthma. The target population is low-income families in the District in which one or more members has asthma.
There are substantial challenges for target families to get current, accurate information and communicate with health care resources. This project was born out of a need to develop alternative service delivery strategies given social distancing guidelines and public health concerns due to COVID-19. The “digital divide” describes the financial and technical inability for low-income families to access resources available to people with computers and computer skills.
