A program by Hennessy that provides immediate relief and long-term support to Black, Asian, and Latinx small-business owners.
Eligibility Criteria
- 51% or more Asian American, Black, or Latinx owned business.
- Business registered in the United States. as a legal entity, with a valid Employer Identification Number (EIN). Social Security numbers will not be accepted. Sole proprietors with an EIN number are eligible.
- Applicant must be a US business with a physical US address (No P.O. Box), including US territories.
- Non-profit organizations are not eligible.
- Firearm businesses and smoke shops are not eligible.
- Annual sales not to exceed $3 million USD.
- Total employees not to exceed 50.
- All business owners must be at least 21 years of age.
- Business must be operational and have been in business for at least two years as of March 2022.
- Applicants may not be an alcohol beverage licensed retailer, distributor or supplier.
- Applicants may not be related to, or a member of the household of, any employee or representative of MHUSA.
- Applicants may not be related to, or a member of the household of, any employee or representative of non-profit partner (Asian American Business Development Center, Hispanic Federation, One Hundred Black Men).
- Applicants may not be employees of NBA Properties, Inc., the National Basketball Association (the “NBA”), NBA Media Ventures, LLC, and the NBA member teams (collectively, the “NBA Entities”), including affiliates, agents and immediate family members and/or those living in the same household of such employees.
- Must have a bank account that accepts electronic transfers.
- If business or owner have previously received funds from the Unfinished Business initiative or Hennessy Never Stop Never Settle Society, the business and owner are not eligible for this opportunity.
- Business commits to supporting the community in a tangible way in the spirit of Hennessy’s ‘Never Stop, Never Settle.’ ethos.
- ONE FORM ENTRY PER BUSINESS, ONE BUSINESS PER OWNER: One form entry allowed per business, as defined by the EIN. Owners with multiple businesses may only enter one of their businesses. If an owner with multiple businesses receives multiple funding offers, only one may be accepted.
Selection Criteria
- The designated non-profit partner (Asian American Business Development Center, Hispanic Federation, One Hundred Black Men) will review each application and confirm that all required information has been received. Completed applications will be reviewed for eligibility before selected applicants are awarded the donation amount.
- Funding will be first come, first served. A minimum of three eligible business will be selected within 100 miles of the downtown area in each of the below listed metropolitan regions. If there are not three eligible businesses in a listed metropolitan region, then the next eligible business from the general pool of applicants will be selected according to first come, first served.
- Completed forms will be processed in the order they are received, and funding will be used as deemed appropriate by the non-profit partner.
