The Steven & Alexandra Cohen Foundation is committed to inspiring philanthropy and community service. The grants support public 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations based in the United States that either help people in need or solve complex problems.
Area of Interest
The Steven & Alexandra Cohen Foundation requests proposals to support nonprofit organizations in the New York City metropolitan area providing meals to individuals and families in need during Thanksgiving 2024.
Funding Information
Requests over $25,000 will not be considered.
Eligibility Criteria
Organizations are eligible to submit a proposal only if all the following apply:
- The organization must be recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a public charity having tax-exempt status under section 501(c)(3).
- All proposed activities must be conducted in at least one of the following locations:
- New York City, NY (five boroughs);
- Westchester County, NY; or
- Fairfield County, CT.
- Project activities must occur on/around Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 28, 2024, and conclude prior to Friday, December 6, 2024.
- The Steven & Alexandra Cohen Foundation must not be the sole funder of the project, with proof of other funding sources.
- Requests must focus solely on the purchase of foods related to Thanksgiving meals.
Evaluation Criteria
Proposals will be evaluated on the following criteria:
- Alignment with the eligibility criteria listed above
- Operational feasibility
- Project outcomes that include a demonstrated impact on underserved communities
- Financial review of organization
- Appropriateness of project activities and alignment with the Steven & Alexandra Cohen Foundation’s mission.
