Details:
The 2024 Volunteer Fire Assistance Grant Application Packet for Iowa Fire Departments serving communities with a population of 10,000 or less is now available. This is a 50/50% federal matching grant.
Priority will be given to:
- applicants who have submitted Iowa Wildland Fire Reports during 2023 & 2024,
- acres of state land protected,
- communities which have not received funds under this program in the previous funding period,
- areas of greatest need,
- departments who utilize Wildland PPE and who have strong wildland fire suppression requests.
Funding Information
Volunteer Fire Assistance Program will pay 50 percent of the cost (not to exceed a maximum of $4500), with the local agencies also paying 50 percent.
