The District seeks to provide effective and expeditious transition in the resettlement of refugees and to assist them to achieve economic self-sufficiency as quickly as possible through social and support services.
The purpose of the grant is to fund the Refugee Support Services (RSS) set-aside program, Services for Older Refugees (SOR), which seeks to increase social integration and independent healthy living for older refugee populations through case management and support services.
Funding Information
- The amount available for the grant is up to $150,000 for one base year with two option years, subject to funding availability.
- DHS/FSA has identified federal formula funding for one grant. A Grantee will be awarded funding based on the capacity to meet the requirements of the program. The award period for the grant will be from October 1, 2023 through September 30, 2024.
Eligibility Criteria
Established public or private non-profit community organizations and/or service providers, including those with IRS 501(c)(3) or 501(c)(4) determinations, and government agencies, located in the District that have demonstrated experience working with the refugee population are encouraged to apply. Additional eligibility requirements will be detailed in the individual Request for Applications (RFA) and in the Notice of Grant Award. Applications are also encouraged from collaborating community-based and faith-based organizations.
