The Meigs County Foundation was created in 2011 to increase and advance philanthropic activities in Meigs County. The Meigs County Foundation works to attract philanthropic resources in the form of gifts, grants, or bequests to benefit the broader community. It helps everyone give back to Meigs County so the community can invest grants to benefit Meigs County residents.
Funding Areas
MCF and FAO’s I’m a Child of Appalachia® Fund will award funding to projects or programs that benefit residents of Meigs County across five areas essential for generating and sustaining transformative change: Arts & Culture; Community & Economic Development; Education; Environmental Stewardship; and Health & Human Services. Projects increase quality of life, create access to opportunities, or implement a solution to a need in Meigs County.

- It is anticipated that up to $35,000 will be awarded overall.
Eligibility Criteria
- Nonprofit and public organizations are eligible for this grant opportunity. Nonprofit organizations include 501(c) organizations under the Internal Revenue Code.
- Organizations other than 501(c)(3) may be asked to confirm the charitable purpose of the proposed activity.
- Public organizations include public school districts, government subdivisions like municipalities, and other entities that are audited through the Auditor of State.
- Groups without either status but working in fiscal agent partnership with either a nonprofit or public entity, are eligible to apply but will be asked to identify the specific fiscal agent partnership.
