With generous support from both the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) Division of Nutrition, Physical Activity, and Obesity and General Motors (GM), the League of American Bicyclists is delighted to announce its Community Spark Grants to support local advocates and organizations working to improve their communities through bicycling.
The League is looking to support the growing number of grassroot advocates and organizations across the country who are creating local change every day. The League’s Bicycle Friendly America program will award Community Spark Grants to 10 organizations, with five of those being organizations in GM home communities.

The League will award 10 grants of up to $1,500 to organizations seeking to improve their communities through biking.
Eligibility Criteria
- The League of American Bicyclists will award Community Spark Grants to 10 organizations, with five of those being organizations in GM home communities.
- Eligible organizations include nonprofits and public or government organizations/agencies, and priority will be given to organizations that are led by or directly serve people from racial and ethnic minority groups. Other types of organizations will be considered on a case-by-case basis and we encourage everyone to apply.

- Public or Government Agencies/Organizations (Ex. Parks and Rec Department)
- Non-Profits – 501(C)(3), 501(C)(4) and 501(c)(6)
- Other types of organizations will be considered on a case-by-case basis
