The Hawaii Dental Service Foundation (HDS Foundation) is a charitable foundation established in 1986 by Hawaii Dental Service, Hawaii’s leading dental benefits provider.
Grants will be limited to projects related to the advancement of oral health. HDS will consider programs and projects that promote:
- Oral health education
- Prevention of oral disease
- Access to dental care by underserved populations
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for funding consideration, an organization must be a charity with tax-exempt status under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Governmental programs are also eligible.
Grants will NOT be considered for:
- Multi-year pledges
- Individuals
- Endowments
- Religious programs
- Political organizations or campaigns
- Operational expenses for United Way organizations
- Research projects
Requests should include:
- A brief history and mission of the organization
- A project description stating objective and timeline
- A statement of need or opportunity that this project will address
- The project’s proposed budget and other funding sources
- A plan to measure the program’s effectiveness
- A plan for acknowledgment of HDS Foundation
