The mission of Women for Women is to increase awareness and address the needs of women and children in Sangamon County and surrounding counties by promoting women’s philanthropy, empowering women to take action, creating results, and inspiring hope and possibility for women.
Funding Information
In 2023, The Women’s Fund is soliciting grant requests in the range of $30,000 – $60,000. Approximately $60,000 in total is available for grantmaking.
Geographic and demographic limitations
Funds must be used for programs and services primarily affecting positive mental health outcomes for women and children who reside in Sangamon and/or surrounding counties, including Cass, Christian, Logan, Macoupin, Menard, Morgan, and Montgomery.
Eligibility Criteria
Each grant program at the Foundation is unique in what it funds and who is eligible to apply. Please review the grant information for each program carefully to make sure your organization meets the specific criteria. Applications are generally accepted from:
- registered 501(c)(3) charitable organizations
- faith-based organizations (proposals must benefit all, regardless of religion, and be for service provided which is not religious in nature)
- public or private schools (proposals must be for projects that exceed the school’s budget funding)
- units of government or municipalities
Requirements
The general focus area for the 2023 Women for Women grant cycle is women’s and children’s issues in Sangamon County and surrounding counties. Recipients are expected to provide a written mid-year progress report and end-of-year grant report in the year following the grant award, as well as an in-person presentation to membership at Women for Women’s annual fall luncheon. Special consideration will be given to those programs that:
- Are not duplicative or similar to those of other agencies;
- Are collaborative with other agencies or entities; and
- Have measurable results.
