In response to the community’s feedback and with guidance from the Aurora City Council, the city of Aurora is allocating a portion of its federally allocated American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding toward support of nonprofits and community groups in Aurora.
The Aurora Nonprofit Grant Program will provide $2.5 million in grant funds to nonprofits that serve the Aurora community to respond to community needs from the pandemic.
Who may apply?
Nonprofits with a 501(c)(3) status with a business license to operate in the city of Aurora can apply. If a nonprofit is selected for funding and does not have an Aurora business license, it must apply for one as a condition of the funding award; this license is free as long as 501(c)(3) determination is provided.
Uses of Funds
Funding is for one-time capital or programmatic expenses. Nonprofits will submit a budget and budget narrative as part of their proposal for review. If awarded as sub-recipients, nonprofits will be expected to follow uniform guidance, and the city shall have the right to monitor and evaluate performance to ensure federal compliance.
