Chobani has partnered with the Idaho Community Foundation to establish a Community Impact Fund that supports organizations, programs and projects that promote entrepreneurship and expand economic opportunity for individuals in the Magic Valley region of Idaho (Twin Falls, Gooding, Lincoln, Jerome, Minidoka and Cassia counties).
The Chobani Community Impact Fund prioritizes programs and organizations working in the following areas:
- Addressing Poverty is defined as programs and/or organizations that increase access to food, housing and/or resources to Magic Valley residents facing food insecurity and financial hardship. Additional consideration will be given opportunities for addressing inequities and stigmas around poverty.
- Promoting Entrepreneurship is defined as providing training, tools and resources to empower new entrepreneurs, and small business development including support of basic business planning, research and development and product prototypes.
- Expanding Educational & Economic Opportunity is defined as programs that promote/support job creation, workforce development and business enterprise at any eligible organization, including a public school. It may also include any of the following:
- Building financial resilience through education, support, and asset development planning.
- Workforce development/training especially for underserved demographics.
- Programs that address barriers to education and/or employment.
- Programs that provide direct financial assistance (grants, lines of credit or loans) to individuals for the purposes of credit repair/building or business development. (Individuals may not apply directly to the Idaho Community Foundation for this assistance. Applicant must be an organization that operates this lending program.)
Funding Information
In 2022, Chobani plans to distribute $100,000 in grants to organizations that are passionate about making a difference in their communities. The typical grant will range from ($5,000 – $20,000).
Eligibility Criteria
- Tax-exempt organizations with current 501(c)3 not-for-profit status under IRS Tax Code Section 170
- Governmental agencies or departments, including public educational institutions
- If an organization has previously received a grant from the CCIF, they may apply for another grant two years
following their more recent award.
