Housing Innovation Grant
The Housing Innovation Grant (between $10,000 and $35,000) will be awarded to one or more applications for an innovative project or program focused on affordable housing solutions that make long-term, sustainable housing accessible to Chaffee County residents. The ideal projects will include documented approaches that will facilitate measurable change on housing accessibility in Chaffee County. Strong applications will clearly describe the needs being addressed, approach to address the needs, activities, outputs, and outcomes of the project or program. Applicants can apply for an existing project or program, but should be able to clearly describe how the innovation grant will increase the impact. Public/private partnerships are encouraged to apply, but the applicant must be a 501c3. Funds must be expended and final reports on the project or program impact submitted by May 30, 2024.
Environmental Innovation Grant
The Environmental Innovation Grant (up to $16,000) will be awarded to one applicant for an innovative project or program focused on clean water, environmental stewardship, and recycling or waste reduction efforts. The ideal project will include documented approaches that will facilitate measurable change on the environment across Chaffee County. Strong applications will clearly describe the needs being addressed, approach to addressing the needs, activities, outputs and outcomes of the project or program. Applicants can apply for an existing project or program, but should be able to clearly describe how the innovation grant will increase the impact. Public/private partnerships are encouraged to apply, but the primary applicant must be a 501c3.
Process:
CCCF will convened a grant review committee for each grant comprised of local individuals with expertise in the fields of environment and housing.
All applications will follow this process:
- Initial staff screening to ensure completeness, CO Secretary of State Good Standing, review of financials and eligibility check.
- Individual committee member review and ranking based in the Grant Rubrics.
- The committee may assign applicants to a “site visit” if follow up questions or clarifications are needed to fully evaluate the grant request. Site visits may take the form of a phone call, email or in-person meeting depending on the nature of the questions.
- Review committee will convene a final work session to aggregate site visit information, rank, and other considerations to make final funding recommendations and rationale.
- It is expected that 1-2 applicants may be funded for Housing and 1 applicant will be funded for Environment.
- All approved grants, upon the completion of a grant agreement, will receive funds via direct deposit.
