Impact on the Plains is a ‘Shark Tank’ style social innovation competition in pursuit of bold solutions to complex community issues.
Focus Areas:
- Health: The health of their community is only as strong as the health of their neighbors.
- Education: Education is the foundation to success in school, work and life, and the cornerstone to a strong community.
- Financial Stability: They are empowering adults with the resources and education needed to ensure fiscal security.
- Basic Needs: Addressing basic needs helps more people survive and move forward.
Funding Information
Each focus area (health, education, financial stability, basic needs) will be awarded $25,000.
Eligibility Criteria
- Proof of 501(c)(3) status required.
- Program is located within the United Way of the Plains service area (Butler, Cowley, Harper, Harvey, Kingman, Reno, Sedgwick and Sumner counties).
- Program falls within the realm of support by United Way. United Way of the Plains supports social services and health and human service needs. Typically, United Way does not support grants to individuals, art/cultural organizations, animal services, capital needs or environmental concerns.
- If no awards are made, funding will be invested in the next year.
- Award money must be utilized by Dec. 31, 2023.
