M&T Bank (“the Bank”) is pleased to launch the AMPLIFY Fund’s Equity & Environment Initiative (“AF-EEI”) a new, two-year effort to advance a stronger, more just environmental movement, and to establish and/or strengthen effective interventions in communities contending with myriad environmental challenges.
Donor Name: M&T Bank
States: Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Connecticut, New York
Type of Grant: Grant
Deadline (mm/dd/yyyy): 07/18/2022
Grant Size: not exceed $25,000
Grant Duration: 2 years
Details:
Through AF-EEI, the Bank will provide non-renewable, two-year funding to CBOs working to advance environmental justice through programmatic initiatives and/or policybased work. The objective of the Fund is to provide support to trusted community organizations that are engaged in environmental justice work as a way to improve the lives of those in the communities they serve. This work should respond directly to documented community needs, with the goal of reducing environmental harm and enhancing community well being.
AF-EEI also welcomes—but does not require—collaborative work and applications from coalitions working to advance environmental progress and justice. The goal is to support innovative ideas and creative approaches–from pilot projects to ongoing initiatives–that will have the greatest impact on those most directly affected by environmental challenges. Applications focused on laying the groundwork for local environmental policy change, or change that might have broader environmental impact will also be considered, given the clearly “borderless” challenges of living with things like polluted air and water.
Funding Information
Annual grants will not exceed $25,000 in each of the two years of the EEI’s operation.
