The Amarillo Area Foundation and the Don and Sybil B. Harrington Foundation award discretionary grants 3-4 times each year. The foundation will accept applications for any of the three strategic impact areas (Education, Healthcare, and Economic Opportunity). Each area has specific priorities for impact that may be viewed at the button below. The 4th round is tentative based on available funding. They highly encourage all organizations considering applying to contact our Grants Program Officer prior to submitting applications.

Funding Information
The Discretionary Grant Program accepts grant requests of over $20,000.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicant must hold a current tax-exempt status under section 501(c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Service Code. This includes: traditional agencies that have current 501(c) (3) status; a recognized government entity requesting funds for public charitable purposes; K-12 public schools; community colleges or universities; or churches/faith-based organizations for projects benefitting the community at large. Individuals are not eligible applicants. (See graphic to help determine eligibility.)
- Applicant must use grant funds within and for the benefit of the residents and communities of the 26 northernmost counties of the Texas Panhandle.
