Details:

The Capital City Marathon Association (CCMA) is a nonprofit organization that has been providing a quality, local, all-volunteer running event since 1980. CCMA is committed to giving back to the community.

Funding Priorities & Goals

Funding is available for projects in Lewis, Mason, and Thurston counties that will increase the understanding and practice of healthy living. To accomplish this goal, the grant supports projects that focus on one or more of the following:

  • Personal health and fitness through the promotion of physical activity and exercise, such as running, group or individual sports, swimming, hiking, dancing, etc.
  • Nutrition, which can include nutrition education or other positive health habits and attitudes
  • Personal growth through accomplishment, such as preparing for a competition
  • Accessibility through the expansion of participation opportunities in a sport or healthy living activities

Funding Information

The available funding pool for the 2023 Grant Cycle is $10,000, and they expect to make up to 5 grant awards ranging from $1,000-$5,000.

Eligibility Criteria

Nonprofit 501(c)(3) charitable organizations, booster clubs, public schools and/or school districts, local municipal governments, and tribal organizations are eligible to be considered for this grant. If your organization does not fall under an eligible category, you must secure a fiscal sponsorship prior to submitting your application.

They consider applications that:

  • Are complete and in the requested format.
  • Clearly describe proposed activities and plans.
  • Demonstrate reasonable financial health and basic capacity.
  • Demonstrate how programs will be created, improved, or expanded due to grant funding.
  • Commit to documenting and submitting outcomes due to grant funding.
  • Align with Capital City Marathon Endowment Fund program goals.
  • Serve Lewis, Mason, and/or Thurston Counties.
