This Health Equity Capacity Building grant RFP will fund activities that enable organizations to continue their efforts and to build additional capacity for future work to address persistent health disparities and inequities.

- Geographic areas disproportionately impacted by COVID-19, especial south King County and south and central Seattle
PHSKC has been awarded a CDC COVID-19 Health Disparities Grant to address the persistent and disproportionate impact of COVID-19 on populations at higher risk and populations that are underserved. CBOs are invited to propose activities including but not limited to:
- Data gathering (quantitative and/or qualitative) among the populations most impacted by COVID-19 and recommending improvement plans
- Community health worker, cultural liaison, and peer leader development
- Outreach, education, and promotional efforts
- Education and training for health, mental health, public health, and social service providers
- Wellness and healing programming for staff and/or community members
- Funding for staff to participate in outbreak response efforts (e.g., vaccination clinics, outbreak response efforts, education efforts)
- Documenting lessons learned and best practices identified through the COVID-19 pandemic, to be used for future emergencies and/or to address health inequities.
- Enhancing partnerships among local agencies and CBOs to support alignment in public health, addressing health inequities, and outbreak response efforts.
- Planning for sustainability to increase capacity, sustain partnerships and continue the work started.
Priority will be given to organizations who demonstrate that they have:
- Leadership/board/staff representing population(s) served
- Received low ($10,000) or historically no previous funding from PHSKC
- A focus on serving priority population(s) that have been most negatively impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic
- Organization(s) and coalitions established during the COVID-19 pandemic to address COVID-19 health disparities in their respective community(s).

Total funding of $2,000,000 is designated for these Health Equity Capacity Building grants.
Eligibility Criteria
CBOs and coalitions of CBOs are eligible to apply if they already provide services to population at higher risk and engaged in creating desired improvements to this population’s social health, well-being, and overall functioning.
Organization Types: This request is open to small nonprofit organizations, CBOs. Small nonprofits and community-based organizations are encouraged to submit proposals. 501c3 status is not required to apply, however if selected and you don’t have 501c3 status, you will need to provide a fiscal sponsor for this application for the purpose of dispersing funds.
