The purpose of the Maryland Horse Board Grants Program is to develop the Maryland Horse Industry by supporting research, education, and promotional activities.
The main goals of the grant program are to 1) increase public awareness and participation, 2) advance education and training in youth and adults, 3) support and promote equestrian events, programs, and activities, and 4) preserve access and use of public lands for riding in the Maryland horse industry.

Programs, projects, or capacity building initiatives within one or more of the Foundation’s priority areas are eligible for funding. Annual grants support both ongoing programs and start-up initiatives. The Foundation’s grants often provide critical seed money and support for groups that do not have large budgets or staff. Ideally, these grants can be leveraged to attract additional funders.

- Not-for-profit and non-profit organizations in Maryland
- Local and State government & university programs in Maryland
- Clubs & associations, businesses, licensed farms, stables, and horse rescues, schools & educational institutions in Maryland.
