The grant program focuses on tobacco and vaping prevention activities to educate youth about the dangers of youth tobacco use and vaping, including electronic smoking devices (ESDs). Activities may be in-person with appropriate safety precautions in place, virtual or a combination of both.
Priority Areas
- Education to youth on the dangers of vaping, including ESDs.
- Virtual and/or face-to-face interaction with youth with appropriate safety precautions in place.
- Education delivered to as many youths as possible.
- Greater consideration will be given to educational programs conducted in coordination with other substance use prevention events, campaigns, and observances such as Take Down Tobacco Day (Formerly “Kick Butts” Day) on March 31, 2023 or World No Tobacco Day on May 31, 2023.

Mini-grants of up to $3,000 each are available to organizations to provide tobacco and vaping education programs to youth in Frederick County.
