Fanny Allen Corporation grants are available to nonprofit organizations serving people in Vermont for one-year duration only.
Eligibility Criteria
All applicants must have proof of nonprofit tax-exempt status. Applicant’s services must be congruent with the mission of the Religious Hospitallers of Saint Joseph, reflecting the compassion of Christ in service to people who are sick and poor, and adhere to the Ethical and Religious Directives for Catholic Health Care Services when applicable.
Proposals will be judged on the following:
- Proof of nonprofit status
- Consistency with the Corporation’s mission to serve the sick and the poor
- Adhere to the Ethical and Religious Directives for Catholic Health Care Services when applicable
- Demonstrated need
- Clarity of project’s objectives and capacity of the applicant to meet the need
- Projects which encourage collaboration between multiple nonprofit organizations with similar goals and objectives
- Demonstration of support and involvement from other sources
- No more than 10% of the funds allocated to administrative expenses
- Funds may comprise no more than 40% of the total dollars for a project
- One-year grants only
Projects NOT Eligible for Funding
- Projects which conflict with the Ethical and Religious directives and Catholic Social teaching
- Capital campaigns and building projects
- Political activities/lobbying
- Research
- Legal services
- Income support
- Governmental programs
