The purpose of the Child Development Associate – Training and Preparation Program is to increase the number of early childhood professionals in the District of Columbia with a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential by providing courses, support, and a funded scholarship for individuals to earn or renew the CDA credential issued by the Council for Professional Recognition.
Funding Information
- The total funding available for this award period is approximately $600,000 per grant period. OSSE anticipates issuing one award from this funding opportunity.
- The period of this grant will be five years, beginning on Oct. 1, 2022 and ending on Sept. 30, 2027, with funding for each fiscal year contingent upon availability of funds and other factors. Each budget period will be one year, with the first period beginning Oct. 1, 2022 and ending Sept. 30, 2023.
Eligibility Criteria
OSSE will make this grant available through a competitive process. Eligible applicants include public agencies, not-for-profit, for profit, and faith-based organizations. Eligible applicants must have experience in financial management, quality assurance, and ongoing monitoring of scholarships or other awards to community members, as well as previous experience providing quality instruction to English speaking and multilingual adult learners in early care and education settings.
