In Maine, they will continue to support organizations that serve children, provide in-person or online arts, enrichment, educational, and leadership development opportunities, and those that aim to assure food security and assistance for those most vulnerable.
Outside of Maine, their grants will support organizations that strive to keep educational opportunities vital and operational by maintaining critical connections through distance learning as well as in person. Support will be focused on programs that help children of all ages feel safe, provide meals, and enable them to continue to grow and develop. Organizations of interest are ones that demonstrate a deep commitment to protecting families, their communities, and the land that sustains them.
Funding Information
Horizon generally will make grants in the $5,000 to $20,000 range, with an average grant size of about $12,500.
Restrictions
Horizon Foundation does not fund and will not consider applications from the following:
- Annual, building, capital, or endowment fund drives;
- Colleges and universities;
- Emergency requests;
- Health/mental health programs;
- Individuals;
- International or foreign programs;
- Public and private schools;
- Religious projects; and/or
- State agencies.
