United Way of Westchester and Putnam is the administrative agency of the Local Emergency Food and Shelter Program in Westchester County and Putnam County.
Who can apply?
- Eligible applicants must: be nonprofit; be eligible to receive federal funds; have an accounting system or an approved fiscal agent; conduct an annual audit if awarded $25,000 or more in federal funds; practice non-discrimination; have demonstrated the capability to deliver emergency food and shelter services; have a voluntary board; have the capacity to either chargeback or expend Phase 39 and/or Phase ARPA-R funding during the jurisdiction’s selected spending period; must be able to completely and accurately obtain, retain and submit required documentation with reports; use DocuSign and online reporting.
- All agencies applying for EFSP funds must provide their DUNS number and FEIN in their applications. Failure to provide these numbers will prevent or delay the release of funds to agencies if they are awarded by the Local Board.
