Love Your Block is a program that brings together Salt Lakers and city leaders to revitalize neighborhoods one block at a time. Love Your Block Salt Lake City was designed to restore neighborhood capacity by creating opportunities for residents to lead change in their community. LYB mini-grants support residents who want to make a difference in their community by providing funds and technical support to accelerate their ideas.
Love Your Block provides mini-grants to Westside residents, businesses, and organizations to support neighborhood revitalization through volunteer-led projects. The Westside neighborhoods of focus for Year 2 of Love Your Block include Glendale, Poplar Grove, Fair park, Rose Park, Jordan Meadows, and Westpointe. The goal for each project is to improve residents’ quality of life, promote community engagement, and address/support a neighborhood concern or initiative.
Eligibility Criteria
All projects must satisfy the following:
- Occur in the Westside of Salt Lake City (Rose Park, Poplar Grove, Glendale, Jordan Meadows, Westpointe, and Fair Park)
- Be led by Westside resident, business or organization
- Host a community workday, where grantees engage volunteers from the local neighborhood to assist with implementing project
- Usage of funds must abide by Cities of Service Spending Guidelines
- They are unable to fund block parties, salaries, rent or utilities
- Applicants must sign a funding agreement and submit a W-9 to receive funding.
