The Messer Construction Co. Foundation assists in carrying out Messer’s commitment to be an involved corporate citizen. The foundation seeks to support organizations that advance the interests of society in the areas of economic inclusion, education, workforce development or environmental stewardship
The foundation will primarily invest in capital projects. A capital project is defined as a major project, often involving construction that will make it possible for an organization to increase its productivity or further its charitable mission.
New this year, Messer accepted grant applications focused on environmental stewardship (i.e., creative solutions for making an organization’s built environment more sustainable) in addition to priority areas of economic inclusion, education and workforce development.
Issue Priorities
The foundation has identified four distinct funding priorities: economic inclusion, education, workforce development and/or environmental stewardship.
Funding Information
- It is the foundation’s intention to award grants in the amount of $25,000 each.
Geographic Funding Priorities
- Consideration will only be given to proposals that benefit the communities where company employees live and work.
- Currently, 11 greater metropolitan areas qualify: Indianapolis, Indiana; Lexington and Louisville, Kentucky; Charlotte and Raleigh, North Carolina; Cincinnati, Columbus, and Dayton, Ohio; Greenville, South Carolina; and Knoxville and Nashville, Tennessee.
