The overall goal of this project is to build infrastructure and capacity in King County for the following:
- Coordinated, effective outreach and engagement of chronically homeless persons;
- A culturally responsive, compassionate, accessible network of dental providers, services, and care coordination for individuals who are ineligible for dental services on account of immigration status; and
- Linkages and referrals for target populations to appropriate services and sources of support.
A key component of the strategy for achieving this goal involves the provision of urgent dental care to the target populations via a mobile dental van.
Funding Information
The annual funding amount available for this RFA is $235,800 and only one award will be made to one Agency. The initial award will be made for a 12-month period, from February 1, 2023, to January 31, 2024. PHSKC intends to renew the award for up to 4 additional years through January 31, 2028.
Eligibility Criteria
- Eligible organizations include public, nonprofit or private entities, and faith-based organizations. Examples of eligible organizations include community health centers, hospitals, community-based organizations, substance use disorder service programs, and mental health agencies.
- Three years of experience providing dental services to people experiencing homelessness, and low-income adults in King County.
- Three years of experience providing recognized best and promising practices that align with principles of trauma-informed care.
- Three years of experience providing culturally and linguistically responsive services that address health and social inequities.
- Evidence that agency has ability to procure clinical supervision for all clinical services and clinical providers funded through this RFA.
- Ability to maintain, and safely secure a vehicle according to the services described above.
