Baltimore’s historically redlined communities still experience significant disparities in critical, health-related resources like food, emergency assistance, transportation, and mental health services. The inaccessibility of these resources drives health disparities, including COVID-19 vaccination rates. The Baltimore City Health Department (BCHD) and Civic Works are awarding mini-grants of up to $25,000 to community-based organizations in Baltimore City to:
- Increase COVID-19 vaccinations and/or boosters
- Provide education and outreach to underserved communities
Applicants who meet the COVID-19 Vaccination and Outreach (COVAX) are encouraged to apply to both programs.
Program Breakdown
COVID-19 Vaccination and Outreach (COVAX): Increase Baltimore residents’ access to vaccines through educational outreach or supporting COVID-19 vaccination clinics.
Successful COVAX applicants will:
- Tell us about their experience working with underserved communities.
- Tell us about their ability to successfully support COVID-19 vaccinations or outreach and education.
- Tell us how many people they will outreach, educate and/or vaccinate.
Funding Information
Foundation will award 5 $10,000 grants and 3 $25,000 grants to projects operating over a 3-month activity timeline.
