Through a grant from the CDC, they are accepting applications from established community based organizations to reach residents of New Mexico with accurate pandemic information and provide access to COVID-19 vaccines.
To provide funding to New Mexico organizations to support pandemic vaccination outreach efforts through activator and mobilizer initiatives to reach the residents of New Mexico. Activator initiatives will provide accurate information related to the COVID-19 pandemic and vaccine uptake. Mobilizer initiatives may include activator elements but go further to create opportunities to provide COVID-19 vaccine at new or established local gatherings. Emphasis is placed on reaching defined demographics and specific counties with low COVID-19 vaccination rates in New Mexico.
Geographic Locations
The following eleven counties continually have lower COVID-19 vaccination rates than the other 22 in New Mexico. While these geographic locations are emphasized, applicants may focus their efforts on locations beyond those identified here: Catron, Chaves, Currym, De Baca, Eddy, Harding, Lea, Otero, Quay, Roosevelt, Torrance
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must be:
- Established, legal entities based in New Mexico.
- In good-standing with the New Mexico Secretary of State.
- Currently engaged with the targeted populations in New Mexico.
- The following organizational structures are eligible:
- Community-based organizations
- Municipalities, counties, and tribal governments
