Lafayette’s Public Art Committee (PAC) is seeking applications from Lafayette artists, arts organizations, and groups. Artists and arts groups outside of Lafayette are also welcome to apply for a project within Lafayette city limits.

Details:

This grant is designed to support projects that will exist in Lafayette’s public space either permanently or temporarily.

Public Art Committee Goals

  • To have a positive impact on the quality of life in the community by fostering cooperation, advocacy, marketing, education, and stewardship of public art that will create public understanding of the social and economic value of art in the community.
  • To integrate various forms of public art into all areas of Lafayette to enhance the image of the city and reflect the cultural and ethnic diversity of the community.

Funding Information

This is a competitive grant, projects ranging from $1,000-$2,000 are preferred, first time applicants are encouraged to apply.

Grant General Requirements

  • Applicants or project coordinators must be US residents, eighteen years or older.
  • All projects must occur in Lafayette.
  • All projects must be completed by December 17, 2021.
  • All grants must be submitted online.
  • Grantee’s Final Report must be completed within 30 days after the completion of the project.

General Guidelines

  • This is a competitive grant, projects ranging from $1,000-$1,500 are preferred, and the PAC encourages newcomers.
  • Exclusions: Funds will not be provided for projects that have occurred before 2021, capital improvements, fundraising events, receptions, existing general operating budgets, salaries of employees for organizations, or reductions of deficits from past programs.
  • All projects must comply with the LCAC nondiscrimination statement:
  • The Lafayette Cultural Arts Commission pledges not to discriminate against any employee, volunteer or program participant on the bases of age, race, sex, color, creed, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, transgender status, gender identity, gender expression, ancestry, marital status, gender, veteran status, political service, affiliation, disability, or socioeconomic status.
  • Project publicity must credit Public Art Committee. A logo will be provided.
