The program strengthens instruction by investing in outstanding teachers’ self-determined professional growth and development to support student success, enrich their own practice and strengthen their schools and communities. From Reedsport to Glide, from Yoncalla to Glendale, all eligible educators from Douglas County public schools are encouraged to apply.
All Douglas County public school teachers who have three or more years of experience in the classroom and are committed to teaching the following year are eligible to submit an individual or team proposal for summer educational experiences they deem relevant to their careers and classrooms – anywhere in the United States or around the world.
This initiative is part of The Ford Family Foundation’s ongoing work to support teachers and develop networks of high-quality teachers and leaders in Douglas County, Oregon, that collaborate to drive improvements in the academic and life outcomes of their students.
Funding Information
The Foundation will award up to $50,000 total for public school teachers in Douglas County to design unique fellowship and learning experiences with the Fund for Teachers. Individuals may apply for up to $5,000 and school teams up to $10,000.
