In October 2019, CFAAC made 22 Grants 4 Teachers awards to Anne Arundel County Public School (AACPS) teachers across the County totaling $10,100. These grants fund creative ideas that would otherwise be impossible to implement in the classroom due to school system funding constraints.
Funding Information
Grants are awarded from a minimum of $100 to a maximum of $500. A volunteer committee of citizens including retired teachers, business people, and parents review the applications.
Eligibility Criteria
All teachers working for Anne Arundel County Public Schools may apply, including but not limited to special needs teachers, music, art, etc. Please note: Projects that appear to have already begun or that have been fully funded elsewhere will not be accepted. Partial funding may be requested if you can provide documentation of having the remaining balance committed from another source (PTSA, local business, etc.). Examples of previously funded projects include musical instruments and art supplies, paperback books for students to take home and share with their parents, field trips to reinforce social studies or science lessons, and technical equipment to promote scientific investigations.
Please note the following:
- Requests to purchase technology (tablets, touchpads, etc.) will not be considered
- Requests for the purchase of assistive technology for an individual student will not be considered
- Requests to purchase alternative classroom furnishings, pre-packaged curriculum or software will only be considered if you can describe a creative way in which you will use them to enhance your students’ classroom experience
